Policies
Please read the policies below to ensure you understand what you’re signing up for. Booking an appointment is an automatic acknowledgment of and agreement to these policies, so please read carefully.
-
Medical History
It is crucial that you complete the medical history form truthfully, as not everyone is medically eligible for ombre brows. Butterbrow LLC will not be held liable for effects stemming from false or omitted medical history.
Additionally, because the skin can become thinner and more sensitive to trauma as we age, a complimentary consultation is required for anyone over age 65.
-
Nonrefundable Deposit
A nonrefundable $100 deposit is required to reserve your session. It will be applied toward your balance. Please book only if you are serious and your schedule is open for the appointment, as no refunds will be issued. I never reschedule or cancel appointments without speaking with you first.
-
Payment
Your balance is due immediately at the end of your session. I can charge your card on file or accept any tap-to-pay card. Due to the nature of the service, no refunds will be issued.
-
Timeliness
The D.C. area is well known for its traffic at any time of day, so please plan ahead to avoid any delays.
While I absolutely appreciate every effort to be on time, please aim to arrive at the exact appointment time and not earlier. I do not have a receptionist , and early arrival affects my ability to rest and/or set up the studio before your appointment.
If you will be arriving more than 15 minutes late and we are able to proceed with your service, it may be abbreviated so other clients are not impacted.
If I cannot service you due to late arrival, your deposit will roll over one time to a new appointment if you are able to return within 14 days.
-
Appointment Length
Sessions on average take anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours. Touch-ups are at least 45 minutes typically.
Appointment lengths can vary widely. Sometimes mapping takes longer due to high muscle movement around the brows or pronounced asymmetry, while other times the skin may not absorb pigment readily.
-
Cancellations & Rescheduling
You are allowed one reschedule with your initial deposit, and you must rebook within 6 weeks for the deposit to roll over. If you need a second reschedule, the first deposit will be forfeited and another deposit will be required.
If you cancel or I am unable to service you for any reason (including but not limited to precare not followed, undisclosed medical history, etc.) in less than 48 hours, you will be charged 50% of your remaining balance due. That cancellation fee and the previous deposit will not be deducted from a new appointment. Exceptions may be made only in the event of a genuine emergency.
-
No-Call/No-Show
If you give less than 48 hours notice or do not show up to your appointment, you forfeit your deposit and will be charged 50% of your remaining balance.
You will be allowed one reschedule only after paying the full amount of the new appointment plus a new booking fee at the time of rebooking.
Second failure to call or show will result in a permanent block from scheduling. -
Anxiety and Willingness to Trust
Designing your brows is a collaborative process, and I will always show you what I’m thinking before I remove any hair or begin shading your brows. My job is to make you look and feel beautiful using my skills and aesthetic. More than anything, I want you to feel comfortable.
- If you are extremely anxious, overly analytical, hesitant to trust my professional opinion, and/or deal with severe body or facial dysmorphia, I recommend less invasive, less permanent options such as henna or tint.
- Your service will be discontinued if you demonstrate that you are uncomfortable or unwilling to consider my advice at any point during your brow mapping — for example, asking to use my tools to do your own predraw.
- Depending on the nature of the cancellation and at my sole discretion, you will have one additional opportunity to reschedule when you’re ready to commit to the process.
- If you are allowed to reschedule, your booking fee will roll over to that appointment. If I decide I am not the artist for you based on any of the behaviors above or others, I unfortunately will not be able to rebook you.
-
Guests
Because of both limited space and the appointment length, guests — including both adults and children — are not allowed in the studio. There are several shops and restaurants near my studio for guests to enjoy.

Phone/Laptop Use
Telework is a major part of our lives these days, but I ask that you do not work from the studio. Phone/laptop use is distracting while I'm mapping your brows, and your eyes must remain closed for most of the shading process. Please only use your phone in an emergency.
